As many as 2,000 Hamas men are reported to have participated in battles with the clan, according to Euronews. Of the at least 32 dead, six people are said to belong to the terrorist-stamped Islamist movement.
Since the ceasefire came into force at the end of last week, thousands of Hamas members are said to have been stationed around Gaza in order to maintain order, pending a more permanent solution. Several sources tell Euronews that Hamas is now taking the opportunity to avenge rivals.
Since Hamas took control of Gaza in 2007, there have been recurring clashes with the area's powerful clans.
