In the men's and women's top leagues, the fight for survival is raging to the last. Classic, successful big clubs like IFK Norrköping and FC Rosengård are seriously on the verge of relegation and the season's big negative surprises. For both, the risk of relegation is tangible.
And in the Super League it will be goodbye to either Trelleborgs FF or Örebro SK.
Love triangle
Norrköping, Degerfors and Öster are involved in a triangle drama about which club will survive, qualify against Örgryte or go out immediately.
On paper, Norrköping has the advantage due to more points (29), but the form is poor (five straight losses) and the opposition is difficult – an IFK Göteborg at Gamla Ullevi that has its sights set on fourth place.
Degerfors (27 points) meets bottom team Brommapojkarna, who only secured the contract last Sunday, at Grimsta IP while Öster (26 points) has the advantage of home field against Djurgården.
Rosengård won the Swedish Championship last year in superb style – now the reigning champion team could fall out of the Swedish Women's Championship. When Linköping visits Malmö IP next Sunday, it could be a real angst final to avoid direct relegation.
The champion in the qualifying place
Going into the penultimate round, Rosengård is in the qualifying spot with 19 points. Linköping is four points behind.
If Malmö Club loses away to Piteå on Saturday and Linköping wins at home to Kristianstad on Monday, there will only be one point between the teams heading into the final round.
The Brommapojkarna, on safe ground at the moment, have 20 points. BP still have AIK and Hammarby to face. It is already clear that Alingsås will be eliminated.
Trelleborgs FF and Örebro SK have a combined 71 seasons in the men's Swedish league. There is nothing to lean on at Vångavallen on Saturday. The bottom meeting in the last round of the Superettan is directly decisive for which of the clubs will avoid falling into Division 1 together with Umeå.
Both have 21 points but by virtue of a less bad goal difference, ÖSK will qualify in the event of a draw.
It has already been clear that Utsikten will have to try to qualify. Kalmar FF and Västerås SK bounced back to the Allsvenskan last weekend after just one season in the Super League.
