What: The PGA Championship, the second major of the year for men's golf.
Where: Aronimink Golf Club outside Philadelphia.
When: Thursday–Sunday.
The competition: The PGA Championship is being played for the 108th time and for the second time at Aronimink, which also hosted it in 1962. American dominance has been massive in recent years, with ten straight American victories since Australian Jason Day won in 2015.
The favorites: Reigning champion and world number one Scottie Scheffler and world number two and two-time Masters winner Rory McIlroy are the obvious favorites. In advance tips, Ludvig Åberg, the in-form Cameron Young and the LIV duo Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau are in the group closest behind the leading pair.
The question mark: Ludvig Åberg's consistent form in recent months – five top-8 finishes in his last six starts – is something out of the ordinary. But in The Players he lost a clear lead and that finishing touch is still missing. Can he get his putting as good as his tee-to-green play? Can he keep a cool head when everything is decided on Sunday? If so, his first major title could very well come this week, when Åberg plays the tenth major of his career.
"I think I've been playing good golf lately. The weeks that I've been good with the putter, I've also been a little closer to winning," the 26-year-old from Skåne tells Viaplay.
The course: Located in the Philadelphia suburb of Newtown Square for nearly 100 years, the course is a par 70 – just two par 5 holes – and measures 6,761 yards.
"From the tee it feels pretty nice. The rough is quite thick, but it's mainly the greens that can cause problems," major debutant Mikael Lindberg tells Viaplay.
The Swedes: In addition to Åberg and Lindberg, Alex Norén is also competing; he finished 12th and 17th in the last two PGA Championships, respectively. Last year he even went into Sunday's lead ball with Scheffler, but couldn't quite keep it together then.
Thursday's starting times (local time in Sweden): 14.02: Alex Norén, Bud Cauley, Jacob Bridgeman, 14.18: Ludvig Åberg, Bryson DeChambeau, Rickie Fowler, 15.02: Mikael Lindberg, Paul McClure, Angel Ayora.
TV: Viaplay broadcasts every day.
