"She obviously lives in an activist fantasy world," writes party chairwoman Inger Støjberg in a comment to TT.
Støjberg has made herself known as one of Europe's most restrictive asylum and immigration politicians.
Ahead of the elections in Denmark, which are being held in less than three weeks, she has also turned against foreign activists.
Not your playground
On Wednesday, the Danish politician posted a picture on Instagram in which she holds a sign reading: "Denmark is not your playground, Greta Thunberg."
On the same day, the party said an entry ban should be introduced for foreign activists who come to Denmark to participate in illegal demonstrations.
"It is precisely types like her (Thunberg) that our statement is aimed at. Ill-mannered young people whose only purpose is to cause trouble," writes Støjberg, who says they should be punished more severely.
Racists
Thunberg has responded by calling the Danish Democrats "racists," reports Berlingske.
"If Danish politicians spent less time complaining about people trying to stop their involvement in the climate crisis, genocide and neocolonialism, and instead actually addressed these existential problems, which these racists actively contribute to, people like me would not have to protest," she told the newspaper in a written statement.
Thunberg was arrested by Danish police in September 2024 during a protest against the war in Gaza. Together with other activists, she briefly blocked one of the buildings at the University of Copenhagen.
Last year she then participated in an occupation and blockade of parts of the shipping company Mærsk's headquarters in Copenhagen.
