Swedes deserve better. Sweden's railway needs a responsible expert authority that devotes its entire focus to the railway, said spokesperson Daniel Helldén.
A part of the summer speech, which was held in a park on Södermalm in Stockholm, was devoted to the Swedish infrastructure and the summer's train chaos, which according to the Green party is partly due to a poorly organized authority.
Roads are prioritized at the expense of the railway when they compete with each other, the authority is drowning in administration, and they have lost both focus and competence, Helldén continued.
The Green party therefore wants to create two separate authorities with responsibility for the railway and the roads, respectively.
Want to introduce a Sweden card
Amanda Lind also delivered promises for Sweden's travelers: The Green party wants to introduce a Sweden card – a monthly card where for five hundred kronor you should be able to travel collectively in all cities in the country.
Residents in rural and sparsely populated areas where a car is needed will at the same time be given the opportunity to lease an electric car for 1,500 kronor per month.
Including all costs, it corresponds to a petrol price of under five kronor per liter, said the spokesperson.
Ideological blinkers
The Green party also criticized the government's migration policy and the decision to remove the so-called track change, where working asylum seekers in the event of a rejection of the asylum application instead have the opportunity to apply for a work permit.
This means that people who have been working, paying taxes, and are part of society for years will now be deported. With ideological blinkers, the government parties are driving their strict migration policy to the point of absurdity, despite the fact that the trade unions and the entire business community are protesting, said Amanda Lind.
