The MP says the law would never have passed if all 349 members had been present. Now the party is presenting a proposal in parliament to have the vote retaken.

"Until Wednesday's vote, the agreement between all parliamentary parties was in effect. No party has ever violated the agreement in the history of the vote-counting system to manipulate a vote result," writes the MPs' group leader, Annika Hirvonen, in a committee initiative.

This was not the first time that SD had deviated from practice, according to Expressen. The paper says SD also had more members than announced ahead of votes on April 15 and 16.

The issues were residence permits for people who have assisted Swedish forces abroad and the Security Committee's proposals on criminal policy. According to the newspaper, SD apologized and defended the action by saying there had been a mistake.

However, during the vote last week, SD admitted that it deliberately brought in two members who had been cleared.
