The money is distributed via Göteborg & Co, with Pustervik, which has been in financial crisis, awarded 950,000 kronor. Ringön's network receives 600,000 kronor, Nefertiti 400,000 kronor and the rest is divided between about ten smaller venues.
I am incredibly happy and grateful that the city has chosen to support not only Pustervik but the music scene in general, and that the city chooses to listen when we say that it no longer works, says Pustervik's CEO Daniel Levin to GP.
Mattias Lundin at Nefertiti welcomes the money but calls for long-term solutions. He points out that the industry has changed permanently, including through booking companies taking larger shares and reduced alcohol consumption.
