Mikael "Greken" Tenezos has been detained on probable cause suspected of around 30 crimes, including preparation and attempt to murder, involvement of a minor in crime, aggravated serious weapons offense and serious narcotics offense. The alleged gang leader was arrested in Mexico earlier in October.

Tenezos participated, like the prosecutors, in the negotiations at the Stockholm District Court via a link. The 27-year-old alleged leader of the Dalen network was dressed in green prison clothes and sat with his arms crossed.

At three different negotiations, he was arrested on Sunday by the Sundsvall, Södertälje, and Södertörn District Courts for around 30 crimes committed between 2020 and 2024. Through his defender, he contested the arrests and applied in vain to be released.

He was first arrested on probable cause, suspected of two cases of serious narcotics smuggling, attempted serious narcotics smuggling, and money laundering at the Sundsvall District Court.

At the Södertälje District Court and the Stockholm District Court, he was subsequently arrested, suspected of, among other things, preparation and attempted murder, extremely serious weapons offenses, involvement of minors in crime, and serious weapons offenses.

Strict restrictions

We will conduct an investigation regarding this crime and then we will see where we end up and what information we get, says prosecutor Henrik Söderman to TT.

Tenezos' defender Joel Apitzsch:

He denies these crimes and had of course hoped for a different outcome. At the same time, it was expected that the district court would reach this conclusion at this stage of the investigation.

In the arrest, Tenezos is subject to restrictions, including a ban on reading news media.

It is being reported a lot about this crime in the media right now and we want to have the opportunity to control what information he gets to take part in, says Henrik Söderman.

Alleged leader

Information that Mikael Tenezos was arrested in Mexico, where he is believed to have stayed for a longer period, came on October 11. The arrest took place, according to Mexican authorities, on a highway between Cancún and Mérida. On Friday, he was extradited to Sweden.

"Now we have him", wrote Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (The Moderate Party) in a comment to TT.

Tenezos, known as "The Greek", is believed to have controlled the so-called Dalen network in southern Stockholm from Mexico. There, he is suspected of, among other things, ordering children to commit serious crimes in several Swedish cities.

Mikael Tenezos, 27, known as "The Greek", is pointed out as the leader of the Stockholm-based Dalen network. Tenezos is believed to have gained a leading position in the network after several other people were imprisoned or murdered.

He is believed to have been in Mexico together with several other people in the network for several years.

Tenezos is suspected of a number of serious crimes, including in Stockholm and its surroundings, Sundsvall, and Växjö. This includes, among other things, attempted murder, serious weapons offenses, money laundering, and narcotics smuggling. He denies the crimes.

The Dalen network is known as one of Sweden's most violent criminal gangs and is believed by the police to handle large quantities of narcotics. In 2023, the network became involved in a bloody conflict with the Foxtrot network, which resulted in a large number of murders and violent acts.

The conflict is rooted, according to the police, in competition for narcotics markets, initially mainly in Stockholm and Sundsvall. In addition, the conflict is driven, according to the police, by a desire to avenge previous violent acts.
