+ TV
All matches are broadcast on Viaplay/TV6.
+ Rules
It's small rinks, of course, and NHL rules apply, with two exceptions.
The European points system has been adopted, i.e. three points for a win in regular time, two for a win after overtime or penalties, one point for a loss in overtime/penalties, zero points for a loss in regular time.
Additionally, 10-minute overtime applies if the game is tied at full time.
+ Brother Pairs x 2
USA's team has two brother pairs, Quinn and Jack Hughes and Matthew and Brady Tkachuk. This is the third time in history that a team can boast double brother pairs. Finland had in 2004 Mikko and Saku Koivu and Jarkko and Tuomo Ruutu, and USA had in 1984 the brother pair Aaron and Neal Broten and Brian and Joe Mullen.
+ Youngest vs Oldest
Blue-yellow star Leo Carlsson is the tournament's youngest player. He turned 20 in December. Canada's superstar Sidney Crosby is the oldest at 37 years old (born in August 1987).
They can meet in the premiere if Carlsson is matched in Tre Kronor.
+ Most from the Champion
Reigning Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers have the most players represented in Four Nations, eight in total. Four of them are in Finland's team – Aleksander Barkov, Anton Lundell, Eetu Luostarinen, and Niko Mikkola. Blue-yellow Florida player is defenseman Gustav Forsling.
+ How it's gone for Sweden
Sweden has never won any of the five Canada Cup and three World Cup tournaments played.
Tre Kronor were in the final against Canada in 1984, but lost in two straight matches.
Canada has dominated with 6 wins (including the last World Cup in 2016), the Soviet Union has 1 title (1981), and the USA has 1 (1996).
+ No Russian Stars
Russia's war in Ukraine means that the nation is not allowed to participate, and therefore it became a mini-tournament with only four teams.
NHL wanted Russia to participate, but Sweden and Finland refused to meet them.
+ OS Next
Star tournaments in North America are always prestigious, this time not least because the Olympic Games are only a year away.
NHL players are making a comeback in the Olympic Games – for the first time since Sochi 2014 – in Milan next year.
