The move comes after Mark Pieth, a Swiss lawyer who works on anti-corruption and collaborated with FIFA during Blatter's presidency, recently advised World Cup fans against traveling to the United States this summer.
Just one piece of advice: Avoid the US! You'll still get a better view on TV. Upon arrival, fans should expect that if they don't behave properly towards the authorities, they will be sent home immediately, if they're lucky, Pieth told the newspaper Der Bund.
On X, Blatter quoted the interview and added:
"I think Mark Pieth is right to question the World Cup."
Blatter led FIFA from 1998 to 2015. He resigned after allegations of corruption. He was recently acquitted in a Swiss court.
The United States is hosting the World Cup together with Canada and Mexico.
