Regular prices for food in grocery stores fell by 0.2 percent in June compared with May.
Since the start of the year, food prices have fallen by 6 percent and by about 5.6 percent over the past year, which is explained by the VAT reduction on April 1 this year. The Food Price Monitor sees no signs that the chains will raise prices again.
"We basically see no price increases for consumers, and the pressure on suppliers to hold back price increases remains very high," says Ulf Mazur, CEO of Matpriskollen, in a press release.
The biggest price drops are in fruit, dairy and cheese - while the price of beef continues to rise.
