They are two of the country's most popular singers and have stood on stage together in many contexts, often with Benny Andersson's and Björn Ulvaeus' music.
But this summer, Helen Sjöholm and Tommy Körberg will tour together for the first time.
It has always been tied to a performance or to the broad expression in Benny Andersson's orchestra. So we have felt that it would be fun to test singing together in something else we haven't done yet, says Helen Sjöholm.
Comeback in "Änglagård"
Helen Sjöholm and Tommy Körberg have made great success as Rut and Gottfrid in the musical "Änglagård". And next year, they will both make a comeback in the performance when it is set up in Malmö and Gothenburg in May and June.
On their own tour, it will be a slightly different repertoire, but exactly what is still unclear.
We don't know exactly yet, but we know of course that we have to do what people want to hear. So it will be both surprise and recognition, says Tommy Körberg.
The premiere will be in Dalhalla in Rättvik on July 29.
Country
Körberg describes the work with the repertoire as an active democracy where everyone gets to come with suggestions.
We flutter in all directions. All cards come up on the table and then we have to sift. Country songs will come up..., says Helen Sjöholm.
Country?
Yes, that's what's so damn fun with Tommy and the band we're going out with. We have a huge breadth, especially Tommy, so we can pull in many directions.
Tommy Körberg is constantly current, despite having recently done the performance "Grand finale", which one could interpret as a farewell.
Yes, it was a title I had come up with. For "resumé" sounded so damn boring. But it sounds like I would be retiring... But I'm not. I'll sing until I drop, says Körberg, who is 76 years old.
But I'm dyslexic, I'm only 67 years old, he adds and laughs.
