The flight with 19 passengers was the first from the capital since last November when gang violence stopped the airport's operations.
So far, only domestic flights have been resumed, while there is still no timetable for international flights.
It has been a year since the IT technician Garry Jean-Pierre last visited Cap-Haïtien, and he says that he has never even thought of traveling along the roads, where gang members are known to randomly open fire on vehicles.
I would not take the risk. You never know when they decide to kill, he says.
The resumption of domestic flights is a rare success in Haiti's fight against the gangs that control at least 85 percent of Port-au-Prince.
