Finland has filed a protest against the men's sprint, in which Norway took both gold (Johannes Høsflot Klæbo) and bronze and the United States took silver, Finland's Olympic Committee announced.

The reason is the controversy that occurred before and during the race, when Norway was allowed to use grazing equipment that no other nation had been told was allowed, and the USA had a bottle of liquid on the course, which is prohibited. Finn Lauri Vuorinen finished fourth in the race.

"We want to ensure that the rules of elite sport are the same for everyone, and that everyone knows them. FIS (International Ski Federation) has admitted that it made mistakes, which has led to unfair competition conditions, where two countries have been given an unfair advantage," says Marleena Valtasola, the Finnish Ski Federation's operations manager, in a press release.
