Earlier on Tuesday, Nato announced that it will buy up to 10 surveillance and communications aircraft from Sweden's Saab.
Finland also wants its own Globaleye aircraft, Defence Minister Häkkänen told Finnish media on Tuesday.
Häkkänen calls Globaleye a crucial warning system and says that the Finnish aircraft will integrate NATO's functions and communicate with them.
Sweden has previously tried to sell the aircraft to Finland, but so far has been unsuccessful.
