The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is withdrawing federal child care payments in the state of Minnesota.

The decision comes after "clear fraud that appears to be widespread in Minnesota and across the country," Jim O'Neill, deputy director of the department, wrote in a post on X.

In recent years, several fraud cases have come to light in the state. Among other things, 57 people have been convicted of a $300 million fraud during the pandemic.
