The incident was raised in the EU Parliament on Monday evening at the initiative of the SD.
This is part of a broader pattern that undermines the security of ordinary Europeans, said Charlie Weimers (SD), drawing parallels to a recent knife murder in Italy.
In both cases, the perpetrator is reported to be of non-European origin.
People who have no right to be in Europe should not be allowed to threaten our security, said Tomas Tobé (M) in the debate.
Abir Al-Sahlani (C) in turn criticized SD for making politics out of a tragedy.
"Let the judiciary do its job. Let us honor (the deceased) with respect and not use his memory as a political prop," Al-Sahlani said.
