Fifteen hours after the transfer window closed, one of the heavier recruitments was finally presented on – or in this case after – football's "deadline day".
Manchester City is strengthening with the Italian star goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain.
The 26-year-old was involved in leading PSG to the Champions League title in the spring but has been in conflict with the French club over the summer and therefore sought to leave. Donnarumma has signed a contract until the summer of 2030.
"I'm coming to a team filled to the brim with world-class players, and a team led by one of the greatest coaches of all time in Pep Guardiola. This is a club that all players in the football world would love to come to", says Donnarumma in a statement.
To make room for the 26-year-old Italian, another goalkeeper is leaving. Brazilian Ederson, who was recruited from Benfica in 2017, is ready for Turkish Fenerbahce.
Despite Gianluigi Donnarumma's heavy merits – in addition to the Champions League title, also European Championship gold with Italy in 2020 and four French league titles with PSG – the transfer ends up in the background this week.
Alexander Isak's move from Newcastle to Liverpool, which is said to have paid around 1.66 billion kronor for the Swede, has overshadowed everything.
