In front of a packed home crowd, Djurgården scored their first boxplay goal when David Blomgren made it 4–1 in the middle of the second period.
Series-leading Karlskoga came back with two reductions, but Djurgården responded with two more goals while being numerically inferior.
Ludvig Rensfeldt snatched the puck in his own zone and blasted it in to make it 5–3 with just over five minutes left. 17 seconds later, Patrick Thoresen made it 6–3, also when Djurgården only had four players on the ice.
We're giving away three goals in our own powerplay. You don't win hockey games like that, period, Karlskoga coach Dennis Hall sighs to TV4 Hockey.
The 5–3 goal scorer Rensfeldt was happier:
It's great that we manage to win and get extremely important points. Fantastic and well-deserved victory.
With the loss, Karlskoga lost the top spot in the table, where it's tight at the top. Djurgården, Björklöven (4–5 after overtime at home against Oskarshamn) and new series leader Södertälje (4–2 away against Västerås) all pass Karlskoga, which is now in fourth place.
