The Malmö coach was upset afterwards and shouted at the referees in the players' corridor.

He believed that the decisive goal from Anton Frondell, with a man advantage after 9:08 of overtime, should never have been approved.

The goal was video reviewed for a long time as Djurgården's David Blomgren stood in the goal area in front of Malmö goalkeeper Oskar Blomgren when Frondell took the shot.

"I was one hundred percent sure that it could never be approved. It's impossible. His standing and disturbing the goalkeeper in the blue area (goal area) cannot be according to the rules," Kollar said at the press conference afterwards.

“Frustrated”

He suggested that the referees were influenced by the pressure from the stands, 8,094 spectators - a sellout, as in every game of Djurgården's comeback season in the SHL. That's why he also shouted at the referees in the players' corridor afterwards.

"I was frustrated. It's a bit of a let-go in one direction and a bit of a take-away in the other, that's how it is. There's a lot of pressure here at Hovet and it's not easy to resist it," Kollar said.

One of the referees, Christoffer Holm, told TV4 about the Djurgården player in the goal area:

If you are standing still, we will not award a goal in this case. In this situation, it will be a goal because the player is constantly moving and never has any relevant contact with the goalkeeper.

Malmö must win at home on Thursday to force a third and decisive game in the round of 16, also at home, on Saturday.

Eight points from the juniors

Djurgården's heroes were once again the successful juniors.

The JVM golden trio, 18-year-olds Anton Frondell (1 goal + 1 assist), Viggo Björck (1 + 2) and 19-year-old Victor Eklund (0 + 3), accounted for a total of eight points.

"They have been good. I have said it before, I understand that it is brought up because they are young, but they are Djurgården players and someone has to do it. They need to continue playing at this level. They are some of our better players and then they need to perform," Djurgården coach Robert Kimby said.

In the other round of 16, Luleå won the first match 6–2 away against Örebro.
