Most people thought Klasen became a two-goal shooter when he shot the 3-1 puck after 13.26 of the third period.
But his shot took on another veteran, Daniel Brodin, before it found its way into the goal.
The jubilation and joy at a sold-out Hovet was total.
Arvid Costmar then made it 4-1 in an empty net.
It was the third time it was good enough.
After a tough loss in the seventh final against Modo in 2023, a clear loss against Brynäs last year, now came the full hit against the worst rival AIK and a total of 4-1 in matches.
Powerful tifo
The Djurgården supporters had loaded up for the intended party with a powerful tifo featuring a giant flag with the text "Always regardless".
In the stands were Djurgården greats such as New York Rangers star Mika Zibanejad – who will play in the home World Championship with Tre Kronor – Mats Sundin, Patric Hörnqvist, and Håkan Södergren.
Djurgården started strongly and created plenty of opportunities against an AIK team that was missing five key players, most recently Scott Pooley.
But 2-1 was a meager return on all the chances.
It's a bid on a two-three, says Linus Klasen to TV4 Play.
Klasen's penalty shot
Filip Eriksson scored the lead goal in a breakaway, but Gerry Fitzgerald equalized in a numerical superiority behind loaned Leksand goalkeeper Marcus Gidlöf, who kept a clean sheet last time.
But just 30 seconds after the equalizer, Djurgården took the lead again.
Tyler Kelleher was fouled and Linus Klasen scored 2-1 on a penalty shot.
AIK's goalkeeper Jonathan Stålberg made a great effort in the first period, but when Klasen pulled the puck to the right skate, kicked it forward, and shot, he was powerless to keep up.
I'll be 40 years old next winter, so I have a pretty good grip on things, says Klasen about the penalty shot.
AIK was further depleted at the beginning of the second period when defenseman Eric Norin received a match penalty for a hit to the head on Dick Axelsson.
A bloody Axelsson had to leave, but returned later in the game.
But Djurgården had a poor five-minute power play and AIK could easily ride out the storm. AIK could equalize the game, but had a hard time creating much going forward and only shot two shots on goal in the scoreless middle period.
AIK made a brave effort with their depleted lineup, but didn't have the strength in the end.
+ Team building. There were clear question marks when Niklas Wikegård picked up "pensioners" like Patrick Thoresen, 41, and Dick Axelsson, 38. But mixed with the super juniors Djurgården has, the blend of old and young has become a success factor. Moreover, team captain Marcus Krüger's heavy responsibility could be distributed to more leadership types.
+ Leaders. When Djurgården picked up Niklas Wikegård as sports manager, it became a success. Wikegård is not afraid to stick out his neck and drive, and his creative thinking around team building has become a full hit.
+ Goalkeeping. Djurgården's goalkeepers Hugo Hävelid and Viktor Andrén have been heavily questioned during the season, but they have been given continued confidence. Hävelid lifted himself significantly during the season, and then came the icing on the cake when the controversial Leksand loan Marcus Gidlöf was brought in at the end. A fact that has been controversial, but still entirely according to the rules.
