The last time Djokovic won one of tennis's biggest tournaments was 2023. The last seven Grand Slam tournaments have been won by either Jannik Sinner or Carlos Alcaraz.
The Serb has previously said that a part of him disappeared when his former biggest competitors Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal ended their careers. But it's not game over for the 38-year-old yet.
I don't give up on Grand Slams. I will continue to fight, he says after the 0–3 loss in Friday evening's US Open semi.
The Serb is aiming to play a whole Grand Slam season next year, which starts with the Australian Open in January.
They (Grand Slams) are just something completely different compared to other tournaments. They are the foundation of our sport.
Djokovic is already the most successful male player ever with his 24 Grand Slam titles. But if he wins another, he will pass Margaret Court and become the most successful player in Grand Slam context – regardless of gender.
The biggest obstacle for him is to be able to play five sets. After the semi-final against Alcaraz, he admitted that the second set's tiebreak took too much out of his strength.
It's something I at this point in my career unfortunately can't control.
