The soldiers come from the army, and the navy and air force may also send personnel, according to the TV channel's sources.
Currently, around 300 soldiers are reported to have arrived in Nuuk and Kangerlussuaq. In addition, the usual personnel from Arctic Command, the Danish military command in Greenland, are in place.
On Monday, Denmark announced that it wants NATO to launch a special operation around the island, which Sweden has said it is ready to contribute to. This is intended to counter US President Donald Trump's increasingly aggressive pressure for the US to take over the island.
