The Athletic writes that Isak and Liverpool are waiting for results from the MRI scan conducted on Sunday.
There is speculation that Isak has suffered some kind of fracture in his left lower leg – and that it could be serious.
If that is the case, he will not be able to play for a long time, and Isak's participation in the national team's playoff for the World Cup at the end of March could be in jeopardy. Sweden will face Ukraine in Valencia on March 26 - and if they win, either Poland or Albania will play in the final on March 31 in Solna.
Sky Sports comes out with similar information to The Athletic.
Isak was injured while scoring his second Premier League goal for Liverpool. The international striker was tackled badly by Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven. His facial expression showed he was in real pain. While Isak was receiving treatment on the pitch, he hid his face in his match shirt.
The Swede was substituted in for the second half, but was forced to come off after the goal in the 57th minute.
Limping and with help, he made his way to the locker room.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot commented on the injury to Sky Sports after the match:
I have no news about him. It's hard to know what it is. If a player scores, gets injured and doesn't try to come back, that's usually not a good thing, but I can't say more than that.
We'll have to wait and see. We'll have to hope he's back with us soon.
