This agreement marks an important step forward after a period of sustained federal scrutiny and institutional uncertainty, says acting rector Claire Shipman.
The support was stopped due to what the Trump administration described as a failure by the university to combat anti-Semitism, including linked to pro-Palestinian demonstrations on campus.
The agreement means that the prestigious New York university will pay 200 million dollars over three years to the government. The university will also pay 21 million dollars to a federal agency that counteracts discrimination in the workplace.
