The Center Party has drawn up a list of demands for joining or supporting a government after the election. One is that a new government cut taxes.

Our demand is clear. Taxes and fees on people and companies must be reduced during the next term in office, says Center leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist, in connection with the party's municipal days in Västerås.

According to her, reduced taxes are the only way to boost the economy and jobs. Among other things, the party wants to abolish the "employment tax", that is, the employer's contribution, for young people, low-paid workers and small businesses. And it should be abolished broadly and permanently, not temporarily and for a limited time, emphasizes Thand Ringqvist.

The Center Party also cannot accept any increases in taxes on labor, businesses, or savings in the next term. C therefore says no to the Social Democrats' plans for a "contingency tax" for wealthy individuals.

Yes, and it is primarily rhetoric. Raising taxes on the rich does not produce large revenues; it seems good, but it is actually harmful to the economy, says Thand Ringqvist.

List of requirements

The demand for tax cuts is just one in a list of demands the Center Party has developed and which must be met in order for the party to be included in a government package.

We will set clear political demands for anyone who wants the Center Party's support to form a government, says Thand Ringqvist.

The tax claim is the second one presented.

More will follow and in August our list will be complete, says Thand Ringqvist.

That list is our contract with the voters. It will show, in black and white, what policies you get if you vote for the Center.

Closed door

In her speech at the party's municipal days, Thand Ringqvist continued to keep the door closed to cooperation with the Left Party and the Sweden Democrats.

"I will work hard to ensure that the Sweden Democrats and the Left Party do not have any real influence," says C leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist.

In the speech, she also criticizes the Tidö parties and the Social Democrats for voting through a stricter migration policy that has led to teenagers being uprooted from their families and deported.

It should be called by its right name. It is a shame for Sweden.

C wants to raise the age for "own asylum reasons" from 18 to 21 for children who have come to Sweden with their family.

She also repeats the promise that C intends to "bring down every government" that does not reduce emissions in Sweden.
