The next government must take responsibility for ensuring that today's young people become the healthiest generation ever, says Centre Party leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist at a press conference.
Children and young people must receive care in a timely manner and the queues for child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP) must be reduced, says the Centre Party.
The transition between BUP and adult psychiatry must be improved and all young people up to the age of 25 who seek help for mental illness should have a permanent care contact.
The Centre Party also wants to see early support measures starting in preschool, expanded student health services and lowered thresholds for young people entering the labor market.
The party is demanding that at least three billion more be spent on healthcare for young people. It does not want to say exactly how this will be financed at this time, other than that it will be taken "within the budget framework."
We think this is an area far too poorly illuminated. It is still the case that the biggest cause of death among young people under 34 is suicide. That is why we must take strong action, says Thand Ringqvist.
This is the party's third demand for supporting or forming a government after the election. Previously, the party demanded that the next government reduce emissions and lower taxes for both individuals and companies.
On Tuesday, the party will also present a new campaign concept with the slogan "Sweden can do more".
It is clear that Sweden is not delivering at the peak of its potential, says Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist.
