Migrationspolisen ICE has made several interventions in Los Angeles to find undocumented immigrants. This has triggered large protests in the city over the past few days. Donald Trump has sent thousands of soldiers from the National Guard and the Marine Corps to assist the police.

Now, several celebrities have spoken out, according to among others The Guardian.

Actor Mark Ruffalo posted a post on Instagram where he called the USA a "oligarchy" and wrote that "you are directing your weapons at the wrong target" and asked "can you not see that we might be fooled into tearing ourselves apart while they reap the benefits?".

He received positive feedback from other celebrities such as Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, Marisa Tomei and others.

Fear and chaos

Rapper Tyler, The creator wrote "Fuck ICE" on his Instagram and singer Kehlani commented "long live the resistance movement".

At Monday's BET awards, rapper Doechii used her acceptance speech to express her disgust at President Trump's actions.

This is a ruthless attack that creates fear and chaos in our communities in the name of law and order. Trump uses military forces to stop a demonstration. We deserve to live with hope and not in fear, she said.

“Treated worse than terrorists”

Director Ava DuVernay meant that what is happening is hypocrisy:

People of all ages and all ethnicities from the entire city raise their voices and are treated worse than the terrorists from January 6.

Model and TV host Chrissy Teigen called for more protests on June 14 and wrote on Instagram that "Trump behaves like a king by defying the courts".
