Almost one in five people in Brockton has roots in Cape Verde, which has led to the city being called “Cape Verde’s eleventh island.”

There have been large but violent celebrations there after the small island nation's World Cup success.

At least nine people have been injured in shootings in Brockton, which is now having consequences.

The match starts at 6:00 PM local time. Bars with a liquor license are not allowed to admit any more guests after 7:00 PM.

Three hours later, a curfew is imposed in the city. No one is allowed outside between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Cape Verde is playing in the World Cup for the first time.
