Just over a minute and a half into overtime, Swedish NHL star Jesper Bratt decided the game and ensured that his New Jersey beat Montreal 4-3 at home.

Even before the match went into overtime, Jesper Bratt picked up points when he played teammate Timo Meier forward, who tied the score at 3–3 in the penultimate minute of the third period.

When he then shot the winning puck between the goalie's legs, he did so without an assist, thus securing New Jersey's sixth straight victory.

"I was just trying to read the goalie's movements and felt like I was coming in with a lot of speed. I felt pretty comfortable trying to make him think I was going to do one thing and then trying to read what the goalie was doing in that situation," Bratt said after the game, according to nhl.com .

Last season, the 27-year-old was the Swedish NHL's leading scorer with 88 points. He has scored 15 points so far this season.

Bratt wasn't the only Swedish New Jersey player on the ice during the game against Montreal. In goal was Gävle native Jacob Markström, who managed 16 saves.
