The reviews have overall been positive and now new information is coming from the film's producer Peter Jaysen about Dylan's role in the project. According to the entertainment site NME, the now 83-year-old singer-songwriter went through the script with director James Mangold line by line.
He met Jim Mangold several times. On one occasion, they sat and read the entire script aloud. Dylan was particularly focused on the dialogue and made notes in the margin. After the last session with Mangold, Dylan signed the script and said: "Go with God", says Jaysen.
Timothée Chalamet also confirms that Dylan scrutinized the script.
Jim has a script with notes from Bob lying somewhere. I've asked to get my hands on it, but he'll never give it to me, says Chalamet.
"A complete unknown" depicts 19-year-old folk musician Bob Dylan's arrival in New York in the early 1960s and his controversial switch from acoustic to electric guitar.
The film will have its Swedish premiere at the Göteborg Film Festival on January 23.
