Björklöven has not played in the top division for 25 years – maybe a comeback is on the way.
The Umeå team has in any case started the season in the best way.
Against the bottom team Vimmerby, a sharp period was enough.
Gustaf Kangas, Gustav Possler and Fredrik Forsberg, who made his fifth goal for the season, scored in the middle period.
Goalkeeper Frans Tuohimaa made his first start for the season after injury and kept a clean sheet after 17 saved shots.
Björklöven has won six of its seven matches in regular time and one in overtime and can boast 28–6 in goal difference.
Last season's SHL team Modo is lurking two points behind after its sixth win, 4–2 away against Västerås.
A heated match where emotions overflowed after the final signal when it got rough in one corner. The home team's Svante Sjödin and Modo's Sverre Rönningen received match penalties.
Behind the second-placed Modo, five points separate down to third-placed Kalmar and there the table is really tight. Between Kalmar and Södertälje in ninth place, only three points separate.
In Södertälje, 18-year-old goalkeeper talent Love Härenstam kept a clean sheet in the 4–0 win away against Östersund. But Härenstam did not have a sweaty evening and only had to save nine shots.
Another talent had it much sweatier. Herman Liv, 19, became the big match winner for Almtuna when he saved 41 shots in the away match against Bik Karlskoga.
Thanks to that heroic performance, Almtuna was able to surprise and win 3–1.
Herman Liv is on loan to Almtuna from the SHL team Örebro.
