The workers began their action with spot strikes in January, but when it did not affect the politicians in the city hall, the strike broke out on March 11. Since then, the garbage has only been collected on weekends, and not fully.
When the garbage collectors voted on continued actions on Thursday, 97 percent of the voters said yes to further strikes.
The agreement the municipality has presented is rejected by the trade unions, which warn that the strike will continue "as long as necessary".
The background to the strike is a proposal from the municipality to introduce uniform garbage fees and to cut down on staffing, in practice with one person per garbage truck,
