Behind Beyoncé, Post Malone, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and Charli XCX all received seven nominations each. Taylor Swift, who won best album with "Midnights" in the spring, had to settle for six nominations.
Beyoncé's "Cowboy Carter" is nominated, among other things, for album of the year and country album of the year, while the hit single "Texas hold 'em" is nominated, among other things, for song of the year and country song of the year. Her nominations also span genres such as pop, rap, and americana.
Earlier this year, "Texas hold 'em" made history as the first song performed by a black woman to top Billboard's country chart. However, in September, the song and album were completely snubbed by the Country Music Awards in Nashville.
Last year, Beyoncé became the most awarded artist in Grammy history with 31 statuettes. With Friday's eleven new chances to win, she has a total of 99 nominations, also the most of all artists. Previously, she shared the top spot for nominations with her husband Jay-Z.
In the category of best pop album, among others, Ariana Grande's "Eternal sunshine" has been nominated, where Swedes Max Martin and Ilya Salmanzadeh have co-written songs.
The Swedish music producer Shellback's name is also on the list. Along with Amy Allen and Justin Timberlake, he is nominated for best song written for visual media for "Better place" from the film "Troll 3".
The Grammy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on February 2, 2025.
