Ludvig Åberg lost three positions and is now in sixth place after making two bogeys in the second round of the PGA tournament The Memorial in Ohio.

The Swede made a bogey on hole eight but followed it up with a birdie on the next hole. On the penultimate hole, it was another birdie, but on hole 18, it was instead time for a new bogey.

Åberg is now five strokes behind world number one Scottie Scheffler from the USA, who leads the tournament with a total of 135 strokes, nine under par.

The 24-year-old from Eslöv said after the first round that he felt "a bit rusty" after taking two tournament-free weeks due to the meniscus problems he had been dealing with during the spring.

Another Swede who lost ground was Alex Norén, who slipped eight places to a tie for 20th with three birdies and four bogeys.

On the other hand, Norwegian Viktor Hovland climbed five places and is now tied for second with –6.
