Belgium's home ground is relocated to Hungary when the national football team meets Israel in the Nations League this autumn, according to the newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.
The Belgian federation confirms on Tuesday that the match on September 6 will not be played in Belgium for security reasons.
Neither Brussels nor any other Belgian city has been willing to take on the arrangement due to concerns about protests and terrorist attacks. Last autumn, two Swedish supporters were killed in central Brussels before the European Championship qualifier between Belgium and Sweden – a match that was then abandoned at halftime and never completed.
According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Belgium-Israel will be played at Bozsik Arena in Budapest. The same stadium is already being used as Israel's home ground in the tournament, due to the uncertain security situation in Israel.
France and Italy are also part of the same Nations League group as Belgium and Israel. Their home matches against Israel are, however, still planned to be played in Paris and Udine, respectively.
