Arash "Ash" Pournouri is targeting the documentary "True stories", which was released as early as 2017, the year before Avicii's death.
Pournouri has on several occasions expressed his dissatisfaction with how he was portrayed in the film – that he would have pressured Avicii too hard when he was obviously unwell.
However, according to Expressen, Pournouri has acted following a post made by Levan Tsikurishvili on Instagram earlier this year. There, he writes, among other things:
"Trying to shift the blame to a film instead of handling the situation correctly is both unreasonable and irresponsible."
On Monday, a lawsuit was filed with the Stockholm District Court, writes Expressen. Pournouri intends to pursue the case as a private prosecution against Tsikurishvili.
Regarding the film "True stories", Pournouri states in the lawsuit that the film was "edited and presented in a way that seriously damaged" his reputation and that the social media post reinforced the false accusations.
Arash "Ash" Pournouri has in recent years worked as an entrepreneur and sat on the "Idol" jury on TV4 last autumn. Tim "Avicii" Bergling passed away in 2018, 28 years old.
