The Austrian-British Eva Schloss and her family were neighbors of Anne Frank's family in Amsterdam. Eva Schloss survived Auschwitz with her mother, but her father and brother did not.
After the war, Eva Schloss's mother married Anne Frank's father, Otto Frank, and Schloss often described herself as Anne Frank's stepsister.
In the early 1990s, a Swedish translation of her book "Camp Prisoner A5272: Anne Frank's Step-Sister Tells of Her Experiences in the Concentration Camp," about her wartime experiences, was published.
In 1995 she co-wrote the play "And then they came for me: Remembering the world of Anne Frank" with playwright James Still. She wrote two more books and gave lectures around the world.
