Sir David Attenborough won a Daytime Emmy on Friday. The 99-year-old Attenborough thus beats the then 98-year-old Dick van Dyke's record from last year as the oldest ever to win.

The British documentary legend was awarded for his efforts as a narrator in the Netflix documentary "The secret life of the orangutans".

Attenborough was born in the United Kingdom in 1926. He began his long career at the BBC in 1954 and is today one of the world's most well-known narrative voices.

He has been knighted twice – in 1985 and 2022 – for his efforts for both television and nature conservation, something that is very unusual.
