At least twelve people have been killed and about ten injured in a Russian airstrike on the city of Zaporizhia in southeastern Ukraine this afternoon, according to Governor Ivan Fedorov.
Russia first dropped aerial bombs over a residential area in the city, local police announced on social media.
"When police, rescue services and medical personnel began providing emergency assistance to the wounded, the occupiers stealthily directed attack drones to the scene," the police wrote.
In Kramatorsk in eastern Ukraine, at least five people have been killed and five injured, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said. He stressed that the death toll could rise, and a major rescue operation is underway at the scene.
"The attack hit the city center and targeted people," the Ukrainian president wrote on X.
Russia dropped three aerial bombs on central parts of Kramatorsk at 5 p.m. local time, said Governor Vadym Filashkin. Many apartment buildings and cars were damaged, he added.
