Johan Forssell's son has been active in the right-wing extremist environment, recently revealed the magazine Expo. The son has, according to Expo, which has followed his activities in chats and social media, tried to recruit others to a white power organization and participated in activities with the Nazi and violence-advocating Activist Club Sweden.
A closed chapter, according to Forssell. Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer has in turn noted that it is criminalized to "actively participate in a terrorist organization", but that in the case of his colleague's son there are no suspicions of crime.
Low threshold
"But it is definitely not the Minister of Justice's matter to decide", writes Nils Funcke and asks himself if the minister's children are above the law.
The terrorist law, he notes, aims at more than active participation in a terrorist-stamped organization - and the threshold for incitement to ethnic group is low.
There are no formal suspicions of crime against the son. But there is also, as far as known, no decision by the prosecutor to dismiss any suspicions of crime, continues Funcke.
"Answer guilty"
"The Minister of Justice is therefore answer guilty to account for what he had as grounds for his statements. The risk is that his statements have constituted an unauthorized influence on the law enforcement authorities."
Gunnar Strömmer's press secretary leaves a written comment to TT:
"The Minister of Justice has only referred to the information that the Security Police at that time provided to the government in the matter, including the information that the person in question is not suspected of any crime. If a person is suspected of or has committed a crime, it is always up to the law enforcement authorities to decide."
