April is the month when most Swedes celebrate their birthday, and most of all on the 16th of April. Nearly 26,000 can celebrate their birthday on this day, writes SCB on their website.
During large parts of the 20th century, many children were born in the spring, nine months after the industrial summer holidays in July. This is why April is still the month when it is most common to celebrate one's birthday.
This year, three of the most common birthdays fall during the Easter week. And all nine of the ten most common birthdays fall between the 10th and 29th of April.
The third most common birthday is, however, on the 3rd of May.
