The American star Kate Douglass broke a 15-year-old world record in short-course swimming last week. Seven days later, she pulverized her newly set record on 200 meters breaststroke in the World Cup in Singapore.

For a week ago, she beat her fellow countrywoman Rebecca Soni's 15-year-old super costume record by 41 hundredths.

On Thursday, she crushed that time by 1.44 seconds to 2.12,72.

Kate Douglass is obviously in the form of her life. The 22-year-old American took two gold medals (including the 200 meter breaststroke) and two silver medals at the Olympic Games in Paris last summer and now she's breaking world records left and right.

Douglass earned around 100,000 kronor for her world record and just as much for winning the distance in all three World Cup events.

Sara Junevik and Louise Hansson were close to podium finishes, but both just missed and finished fourth on the 50 meter freestyle and 100 meter medley, respectively.

The competition in Singapore – where the World Championship in long course will be decided next summer – is the third and final in the World Cup.
