The American news site Punchbowl reported on Tuesday that Amazon will impose customs duties on all goods that the online giant sells.
But just a few hours later, a denial came from the company – it was only plans that were not approved and will not be realized, writes Amazon in a statement.
Then, President Donald Trump's press secretary Karoline Leavitt, at a press conference, called the move a hostile and political act after discussing the issue with the President. She did not want to go into whether the news would affect the good relationship between Amazon's chairman and founder Jeff Bezos and Trump.
Amazon, which buys large quantities of goods from abroad, much from China, is affected by the US's extremely high import tariffs, introduced mainly against China, but also other countries.
