In September, Netflix released the TV series based on Amanda Romare's book "Half of Malmö consists of guys who dumped me". Now it's clear that Amanda and Adina Romare are making a new series, this time for SVT with a planned premiere in 2027.
"Raw dog" will start filming next year with Carl-Petter Montell as director, who also writes the script with the Romare sisters.
Young men
"Half of Malmö..." portrayed Amanda Romare's adventures in the dating jungle. This time it's about young men in their 20s, who struggle with their identity.
When I look at our brothers and our boyfriends, I can sometimes feel that they strive so hard to want to be someone else. But that they then suppress some of their feelings inside to try to fit into the "modern man model", says Amanda Romare.
This applies to both politics and values, but also what you are turned on by.
Now I'm not talking about Andrew Tate, or something like that. I love PK, but I can still see a problem when you sometimes have to pretend to be something you're not, says Amanda Romare.
"Half of Gothenburg..."?
A large part of the inspiration comes from the sisters' half-brothers Owen and Erik. Unlike "Half of Malmö...", "Raw dog" takes place in Gothenburg where the brothers in the series move in together, but have varying degrees of success in their dating lives.
Amanda Romare is careful to point out that "Raw dog" should not be seen as a sequel.
Our brothers will not agree that it is some kind of "Half of Gothenburg...". They see this as a standalone series.
