Alexander Isak continues to write history time and time again.
Previously, the Swede has written history in several ways – including as the Swede with the most goals in the Premier League ever, and by deciding the league cup final for Newcastle and shooting the first title to the club in 70 years.
But now the 25-year-old has made a new record.
On Saturday, he scored his 22nd Premier League goal of the season, when he put away a penalty against bottom team Ipswich. Thus, Isak broke his previous record from last season when he reached 21 goals in the league.
The Swede had, after Ipswich defender Ben Johnson's red card in the first half, several chances to score both one and two more goals, but Isak was substituted and the score remained at one.
Newcastle then won the match 3–0, after additional goals from Dan Burn and William Osula.
The win means that Newcastle climbs to third place in the league with four matches left to play. The top five teams will play in the Champions League next season.
For Ipswich's part, the loss confirmed that it was only one year in the Premier League and that relegation is a fact. The team thus completes the feat that all teams that were newcomers before the season (Southampton, Leicester, and Ipswich) are also the ones that are relegated.
