The 24-time Grand Slam winner swapped his tennis racket for a bike and went for a ride in Paris.
Despite the "wrong" sports equipment and wearing a bike helmet and glasses, the Serb was identified and a video of him cycling around the Arc de Triomphe spread on social media.
The 38-year-old, chasing a historic 25th Grand Slam title, could win his match in the second round against home player Corentin Moutet with 3–0 in sets after three hours of play on Thursday afternoon.
First Kazakh
The 62nd-ranked Alexander Bublik became the first Kazakh man to reach the third round in Paris tennis. This after turning around and winning over ninth-ranked Alex de Minaur.
De Minaur led with two sets in the match and seemed to be heading for a comfortable win. However, after some lovely shots, Bublik got the audience on his side, and could then turn around and win three straight sets, and also the match (2–6, 2–6, 6–4, 6–3, 6–2).
The elimination in the second round is de Minaur's worst result in a Grand Slam since Wimbledon 2023, having reached the fourth round or better in six straight Grand Slam tournaments (including four quarterfinals).
Career Over
Richard Gasquet, 38, announced before the French Championships that it would be his last tournament. Now the Frenchman has played his last match in his career.
On Thursday, Gasquet lost to Jannik Sinner, world number one, in three straight sets (6–3, 6–0, 6–4).
Congratulations on your incredible career. You played great tennis and we will all remember you. I hope you come and visit on the tennis court sometimes, it's fun to have you here.
Third-ranked Alexander Zverev got a bad start against Jesper de Jong, 88th in the world. The Dutchman won the first set with 6–3.
But then Zverev took three straight sets and won the match with 3–1 in sets (6–1, 6–2, 6–3), and is on to the third round.
