On Thursday evening, the Swedish hockey team Södertälje SK announced that a leader connected to the A-team had received a serious threat, which the club reported to the police.
“We will never accept threats, violence or harassment,” the association wrote on its website.
When Almtuna arrived at Scaniarinken on Friday evening, the players were greeted by banners in the stands urging the club to take action after only 18 points in 19 games.
"I completely understand that you are disappointed and want to see improvements. We do everything we can every day," defender Niklas Arell told TV4 before the match.
The evening ended in the best way for Södertälje. In the third period, the home team turned a 0–1 deficit into a 2–1 victory. Arvid Costmar equalized and Måns Lindbäck decided the game with his 2–1 goal, in numerical superiority, with 21 seconds left to play.
Despite the three points, Södertälje remains second in the standings.
