Already on the first special stage on Friday, the Swede went into the ditch and did not drive again that day.
He started Saturday with a significant time penalty and was ruled ineligible to earn any regular World Cup points in the semi-final in Croatia.
That didn't stop the 24-year-old from dominating the weekend, winning ten of the twelve stages. He won all four stages on Sunday, earning a total of ten bonus points.
Japan's Takamoto Katsuta won in Croatia and has taken the lead in the World Championship standings with 81 points. Elfyn Evans of Great Britain is second on 74 points. Former runner-up Solberg is now third with 68 points.
The fifth World Cup round will be held in the Canary Islands from April 23-26.
