At a very foggy Anfield, league-leading Liverpool took on 18th-placed Leicester on "Boxing Day", and beforehand, it looked like it could be a real thrashing.
But it wasn't the fog that made the audience rub their eyes, after the visitors' Jordan Ayew had turned around Andy Robertson and scored 1-0 for Leicester in the sixth minute.
A shock for most, since Liverpool had completely dominated the start.
But luckily, Arne Slot and his red-clad team got to go into the dressing room with a deficit. In stoppage time of the first half, Cody Gakpo angled in the equalizer, and just a few minutes into the second half, Curtis Jones put the home team in the lead with his 2-1 goal.
Leicester did what they could to get an equalizer, but were never particularly close.
The final result was written at 3-1, after Mohamed Salah refused to leave the afternoon goalless. The goal was the Egyptian's 16th (!) in the Premier League this season.
Thus, Liverpool extends its lead in the Premier League, and has, after Chelsea's 1-2 loss to Fulham earlier on Thursday, seven points down to second place. If Arsenal manages to defeat Ipswich on Friday, the gap will shrink to six.
